we hauled air conditioners into the port Miami needed TWIC picked up military at Blount Island needed TWIC took roofing for HI to port at Seattle needed TWIC sooooooo it comes in handy...yea I knew you didn't have enough post sorry but you will soon.....hazmat yea need that one too......we have our own trailer so I don't know the cost for a Mercer trailer but we do have truck payments and we are paying the bills.....we eat at least one meal a day in the truck more if we are not running hard if we are running hard we may only eat once ....there are weeks that it may be days before we eat out and eat in the truck .......we keep expenses to a min.....and if I can keep his hands in his pockets at the grocery store the bill is a lot smaller too.....so do the math realistically get your post up and also REDD will give you figures too ...if he ever got outta that snowstorm he was in....haven't heard from him need to check on him today.......

You must of forgot to check on me!!!
I leased my trailer from Mercer... $600 a month & at the end of the lease, it is mine.
Container freight? I've only pulled containers out of California. They either went to the port of Houston or the port of New Jersey. I came with my TWIC. I do not have HAZMAT. They implemented that requirement after I came into the system & they are not requiring us to get it... Only the new trucks coming on. I do have the sealink card also... You can't get into the port of New Jersey without it. I also have my RFID tag.... You can't get into the port of LA or Long Beach without that. -
Thanks Redd-I can probably do everything but hazmat online.I thought twic covered long beach and la.I used to go in there and pull hi-cube containers years ago for landstar ligon.
-
You have to have the TWIC as well as the RFID tag for LA & Long Beach. The same thing with the sealink card, you have to show it & your TWIC to get into the ports of NJ

Another thing to consider is doubles & triples endorsement. Now I'm sure your asking why do I need that to pull a flat or step? Well truth of the matter is every year at this time Mercer contracts to UPS & pulls their doubles & triples down the highway. I'm not sure what they pay, but I have heard mixed reviews.
-
I thought I would put doubles and triples back on at same time as hazmat.I let them go at same time.Still have my tank and motorcycle so wont have to get everything.I havent used my triples since 82 but only costs $5 to add it back on.
