Montana-based Jim Palmer Trucking sold

Discussion in 'Truckers News' started by rookietrucker, Nov 25, 2009.

  1. Has lead me to this information.
    A Company called "InterCept Logistics"
Air Freight as well as Trucking.

Google came up first with Milan Kangrga / Writer , who is not a fan of Communisum (sp) . Maybe this M Kangrga ( youngster at 51 is related , his son? Got the heck out of Croatia and came to the land of the free , the home of the brave , the good old USofA!

All in all , he might be good man, but then again due to the lack of info in the newspaper the Missoulian ( it is a dandy ) we are led to believe there is a dark side. If that is the case and this is not a good man, we best call in BRICKMAN and who else likes to politically kick butt and take no prisoner's on the Best Trucking forum out there !:biggrin_25515: On to Plan C:yes2557:

Until Carlyle posts some more period and more on this subject that member will remain suspicious to me.

    1. They just registered this month.
    2. They've only got ONE post on TR, and it JUST SO HAPPENS to be on this particular subject.
    3. That one post was made 5 days ago and the poster hasn't been seen since.
    ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Too many red flags for me to believe that this person is any thing other than a VERY cheap attempt at PR for the new owners of Jim Palmer.

Maybe they'll come around and eventually become a productive TR member, and prove me fulla$##t...... bring it on.

And then after looking at some of the "behind the scenes" details my suspicions INCREASE. A LOT.

Basicly this economy is thinning out the heard. The weak or poorly run business are going away. Mostly from being over mortgaged . Same problem as the rest of the country. Living beyond there means, and expecting the working class to pickup the slack, guess what theres no more the working class can do...

I couldn't find an InterCept based out of Chicago. There is the bigger one based out of Maspeth, NY, but they don't seem to have any links to the new JPT owners.

Yeah, I'd like to see another post out of 'Carlyle' too, but I think that you're right and we won't be getting any answers out of him/her anytime soon.

Thanks to both of you for looking into it.

So the question remains, how do two men who own 'a small flatbed service in the Chicago area' raise enough capital to buy a 300 truck operation like JPT? Especially in times when lending is so tight. I'm not saying it can't be done, but I'm interested to know how they do it.

To be clear "when his company went bankrupt" implies that it is no longer bankrupt, correct? Why would someone sell a 40 year old business, a business he developed his entire professional career around just as it is becoming profitable once again? Hasn't Jim Palmer Trucking survived in one of the largest economic recessions in this half of the century?

And using the Missoulian Newspaper, hardly related to trucking experts, as a source for such strong opinions just seems like you want to hate these guys...

Jim Palmer Trucking failed. Period. Now someone may be bailing them out like GM but they failed. And no one has survived this recession as it has yet to even start to play out. The guy spent way too much on plastering his name in the biggest letters possible on his equipment. Bet when times started getting lean he wished he had that cash back. Must have done some other things that he failed to learn in that illustrious 40 yrs. I do hope whoever takes over makes a go of it and provides some badly needed good jobs.

  9. Milan and his Mrs ? Gangrga , purchased a home for $505,???.00 between 2006 and 2008, outside of the Chicago area.

Unfortunately for Jim Palmer , his legacy ( sons ) are not businessmen for the/ or /any Trucking Industry, they tried awhile back and poop happens.:biggrin_25521:

I guess I will just have to ask around the locals and hear their sides/ opinions and what they think, will get back to ya!:biggrin_2554:
Or should I drive over and walk in and sit down and talk to Lonnie , up front , get the scoop and tell him I am reporting back to the

BEST DARN TRUCKING FORUM ...................in cyberspace!:biggrin_25515:

  10. Intersting when I typed Milan , backwards I came up with Nalim , for shizzzles and giggles. Nalim is responsible for some TYPE of Diesel Engine that is a runnin mutha..........I then came upon a website to ask any ??? so I did.

Is Nalim and Gangrga buinsess associates in the Trucking Industry or any Industry? I await the response from www.Yedda.com I think thats it will double check thru my History puter trail. Ok later < I need to sleep>
