Transport America but they only use the inward facing camera if you give them a reason to like constantly following too close or drifting over painted lines

I'd like to agree on that, but I've hired dozens of drivers and I'm constantly surprised at which ones turn out to be great drivers and great employees, and which ones turn out to be nightmares. I'm not a recruiter, I was a fleet supervisor at one of the larger companies, but one that has dozens of locations, mostly under 50 drivers each. I've since been promoted to dispatch manager. I interviewed every driver I hired in person before ever sending them for drug test, physical, etc - I think I ended up with an overall better than average group of drivers, but there were a few that turned out to be real zingers.

It took me climbing out of the truck after nearly 10 years behind the wheel, and getting behind a desk, to realize the level most people - truck drivers and everybody else - are at. Some of them are truly awe-inspiring. Some of them are the opposite. And there's really no way to tell them apart until you get to know them a lot better than you can in an interview and an orientation.

Basically my company lets me drive their 200k truck & trailer, plus all the benefits etc, therefore it`s their truck not mine they are just letting me drive it so i can make a living therefore the camera issue is no problem for me.
Driver`s they complain about the camera`s are mostly insecured type people.

If they trusted you, they wouldn’t put driver cameras in their trucks. Rather, they would use forward and side cameras on the outside, only. That would protect the trusted driver by showing the truth in the event of a wreak.

They put driver cameras in there due to the drivers they hire with questionable records. And that affects good drivers in a negative way.

If a company does not trust me and my good driving record, I’ll go elsewhere and be better off for it.

They aren't "letting" you drive their truck to make a living, the are giving you the job of driving their truck to pickup and deliver freight so THEY can profit.

YOU are an expense. Period. If they could put an AI robot in the seat they would replace you yesterday. There is no altruism in business to employ people and provide for their families.

Everytime I read "we are a family oriented company" I laugh so hard i cough up knee cartilage.

That attitude and way of thinking is a big part of the problem.
