Flatbed demand is up, that's a fact. Rates are sky high. Last month I didn't take any loads that were under 3.00 dollars a mile. People are out-bidding one another just to get the truck if capacity is in the area. Trucked 10,179 miles and still managed to take 5 days off in a row while my truck was getting worked on. I put together an LTL run that had me deliver 1.5 miles away from the TA in Redding CA. One of the LTL pieces paid over 3.50 a mile from UT to WA State. Needless to say I was able to afford the cute new shoes I've been looking at .
Be safe,
Sophia

I'm not sure if it's 'real' demand but I suspect some significant and long-term demographic changes.shooter19802003, PoleCrusher and cke Thank this. -
A rich man dying of thirst in a desert has a demand for water, whereas the person selling bottled water to a person with only a dollar sitting next to a pristine creek is supply.
I think its probably not as bad as the first case but closer to that than the second. As far as "bubble" well, its not a bubble if the thirsty man finds an oasis but it was always unstable in the second case.
I dont think its very useful to look at motivations as closely except to figure out how long that demand might hold for.
The bottom line is that if you have money and a desire for something scarce, you will end up driving prices up, thats not neccessarily a bubble or inflation, but its also not neccessarily long term stableQbf594 Thanks this. -
I bet a lot of drivers not wanting to go back to tarping when they can be knocking out $3+ a mile with a van. I'm one of them lol

For all the door slammers loving that money I hope you put some aside for the health concerns that arise faster with a lack of regular physical activity. I might not like tarping but I'll bet I'd hate obesity more... no such thing as a free lunch...

Stable is only a theory lol. Like perfection. A goal that is unattainable. A little less volatility would be welcome tho... -
