I’m between 2 companies to lease on to. 1 company F2F to be exact charges 165-220 a wk for a trailer I heard that is extremely high and no they do not cover the maintenance of the trailer. Now company 2 they’re charging me 5% of my loads for using their trailer but they cover the maintenance. Is 5% better than a flat fee especially if maintenance is covered? Of course I can find a trailer rental place and just rent or lease a trailer but due to everything going on equipment fees are overpriced so leasing is out of the question and I’m waiting to hear quotes for rentals. But based on the 2 would you prefer percentage or a flat fee?

165-220 per week is very reasonable. You can not find a dry van to lease even for a $1000 per month nowadays

F2F has come a long way new owner and employee’s they’re actually really good I’d go with them hands down if their cut wasn’t 20% the 2nd company is 20%-15% depending on if I rent a trailer from themslow.rider Thanks this.

I couldn't tell you anything about the current operation but if the big bad idiot has not been completely banished and he is 100% not involved and he's banned from the premises and has nothing to do with the bank accounts and nothing to do with the trucking and has nothing to do with the Personnel he is completely 100% total exiled from that business... then maybe.
But if he has any association whatsoever, if he's a limited partner if he works there if he has access to Personnel if he's a distant relative of someone who bought the place if he has any way whatsoever he is not 100% exiled from that business with a restraining order to keep him away from that business and the premises RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! -
What’s the average for all miles to your truck? That should be the determining factor, not just the percentage.

That’s all on me I’d be picking my own loads off of load boards of my choosing with both companies.

He 100% not with the company in any shape or form the current company bought him and completely rid the finances and changed the policies the only thing that didn’t change was the motto that this is a company for O/O if you fail it’s 100% on you because you book your own loads. All F2F does is go over the rate con and sign off and you’re paid every Friday whether or not they’ve received the money for the load or not.baha Thanks this.

So it’s an apples to apples comparison between the two? I’m just asking because we see it a lot here where people focus on the percentage. Personally I’d give up the bigger percentage all day long if they had better paying freight that resulted in my truck making more at the end of the day. If their freight and rates are similar then I can see your point of view also.

Yes apples to apples once I compared all the fixed fees everything evens out it just comes down to the trailers do I prefer a flat weekly rate or a percentage based rate. But after thinking everything over I’m going with Company #2 and once everything calms down hopefully equipment fees will go back to normal or close to normal and I’ll just rent a trailer for a set fee and get 5% more for my loadsLong FLD Thanks this.

stop.
kind of odd you are defending f2f this way.
