I would be willing to bet more people lost their lives in accidents with Celadon then they company involved with Humboldt. Just not all in one accident.

Loss of life when something is preventable is always horrific - no matter how many people die. It is scary how driver think they can control 80,000lbs with no consequences... I miss when people used to think behind the wheel instead of just sitting thereBigHossVolvo and Phantom Trucker Thank this.

100% agree. Lately every year there is several 100+ vehicle pileups killing several people at a time only difference is the number of vehicles involved.BigHossVolvo and Prairie Trucker Thank this.

My company also runs on two different companies but has the same owner.
What's the deal about that? I'm kind of curious. The local drivers are paid on one company and the OTR drivers are paid on another. -
Usually it's one company has all the assets and the other has the licensing. Also if they use the Driver Inc. model - they only have to get WCB and run payroll under one company - showing lower wages. Insurance costs could be lower as well ... many factors... depends what their business model is.not4hire Thanks this.

Other reasons can be because of the different jurisdictional regulatory and operating requirements, e.g.; operating authority, licensing, vehicle and cargo insurance, driver's drug testing, etc.
