How is it odd? I know drivers at F2F who are doing good and love it. I’ve been planning to lease my truck on to them for over 3 months I even applied got approved sent SFI the letter of intent before this shortage happened I was on track to get my truck this month and go straight to F2F I even had a orientation date. I had 3 requirements 1. I need at least 80% of my loads 2. be able to pick my own freight off load boards myself 3. The company can not micro manage me. I don’t want to be hounded or bothered if I take a week off it should be nobody’s concern but my mine. F2F was the only company I could find that met those requirements. But thanks to @Speed_Drums I was informed about JRV after I called them and asked them a list of questions and they sent me an email of their fixed fees and fuel surcharge and discounts and the average their drivers make. It makes more sense for me to go there. I even have the option to have dispatchers help me book loads at no extra cost. It’s a nice safety net to have as a new O/O.

So your looking to lease both a truck and trailer?
-
The weekly rate, all you’re doing is making their payment on the trailer.
Just rent by the week until you can acquire your own trailer. A new Great Dane, no money down will run about $800 per month..Unfortunately finding one right now will be a challenge. -

Don't hold your breath if you're looking for a van trailer.
Where I bought my trailer last year that dealer has about a hundred acres or so of ground filled stocked full with trailers. They have a sales force that has contacts all over the United States and they buy trailers fifty or a hundred or a thousand at a shot.
I touch base with my sales guy a little while back he told me they had nothing. Nationwide shortage.
This is why you see things like a 2002 trailer for $15,000.
And people jumping in now are happily paying it.
We'll see how happy they are in a year or two...
