Best pre emissions engine for mpg

What turbo and hp would you run with that setup ?

 

I will be pulling light loads, usually mail.

 

That is one sweet truck with that huge bunk

 

Only Volvo I ever drove had the VED12. Felt pretty gutless. 7th direct with an empty 48' highboy I could barely hold a steady speed up a small hill. Engine brake was about as effective as holding your hand out the window.

 

60 Series...

 

60 Series with a few little things done to it so it cruises well at 1350-1500rpm range will probly be your best bang for your buck PM me if you wish

 

ive had an 07 volvo with a d12. at first it used to give me 7.4 mpg until an injextor went out and swap from single to double tires. after that i never saw more than 6 mpg driving at 64mph 1450 rpm.

now i currently have a fl century 12.7l. 500 hp tune with a k31 turbo
i consistenly making 7.8 mpg driving 65 to 70

I run stepdeck. Can count on one hand loads last year over 30k. Most of my stuff is between 10-23k. No apu but have Espar set up on isolated battery. Consistent 7.3-7.6.

my cruise is set at 64. Anything above that makes no sense or money to me. 1525 rpm on a straight 10 with 3.70 gears.
