Good! I'm glad to hear that he's no longer going to see the light of day.

Sad, but he got a better sentence than the driver got. At least he got life. The driver got death.

But you know what really sucks: the convict will probably have a better life in prison the most OTR truckers.
    3 meals a day,
    adequate sleep,
    daily shower,
    cable or satelite tv,
    exercise equipment,
FREE health care w/dental and mental care included,
the oppurtunity to get an education (GED, college degree).
How many OTR drivers have ALL those things? every day?
This parasite doesnt deserve another breath!

Meanwhile "Jason's Law" is stuck in commiittee. What is going to stop this tragedy from happening again? Let's ask the survivors of the KLLM driver shot and killed in Moreno Valley, CA who couldnt PARK HIS TRUCK AT HIS HOME because of some stupid law!
I guess it's ok if truckdrivers are victims of violent crime and lose thier lives as long as we dont driveTIRED or forget TO SIGN OUR NAME on our logbooks! Then the lawmakers will get up on the bully pulpits and pound their fists, wag their fingers, and "make those truckers pay!".
Let's not enforce the laws already on the books but let's create a whole new beauracratic nightmare designed to make the public THINK that politicians care about safety!

So now the tax payers of South Carolina will have to provide food clothing and
medical care for this monster for the next 50 years.Even more likely some time
in the future some liberal judge or Governor will pardon this creep. He must have
had a few liberals on the jury or he would have got the death penalty.

    The jury found him guilty.
    The judge ordered the sentence.

The only positive that can be taken out of this tragedy is that we could get more safe and secure parking so this kind of tragedy never happens again. Yes, this dirtbag deserves a million volts through him, but I guess South Carolina doesn't have the death penalty or the prosecutor didn't have the guts to try to get death. I actually have faith in Rep. Tonko that he will get enough support for this bill and it won't suffer the death that Mr. Rivenburg did.
