Hmm mine sits outside my bedroom window. I would never get a reset. In fact I spent all morning servicing both trucks and trailers.

I ###### sure wouldn't log it as on duty, unless something goes wrong which requires action. You don't go on duty, unless you're an idiot, to take a call/answer a text/qualcom; so why would you think a quick temperature/Fuel check requires on duty?
Speed_Drums, nredfor88, Lumper Humper and 1 other person Thank this. -
You figure in this day and age, you and your company could monitor a reefer temperature and fuel level from a remote location.
Speed_Drums, fishonron, nredfor88 and 3 others Thank this. -
Just a question???? If you look at another driver's reefer do you have to log it?
Socal Xpress, Lumper Humper, not4hire and 2 others Thank this. -
Some companies do have that, but it can have faults as well. Before I left Wilson I had a PRIME trailer start throwing low fuel alarms and shutting off in the middle of the night. When I was woke up by the reefer alarm messages I checked the tank and it had more than 3/4 tank. Went through other troubleshooting steps, and at the end of it was simply a bad sensor. Had to get an override code from shop personnel, and could have potentially lost product due to a sensor error.Lumper Humper, not4hire and JC1971 Thank this.

They can... they choose not to.
And why would they choose to invest in the technology to do it when they can get a driver to interrupt their day(s) off to go check on it for free instead?
Lumper Humper and JC1971 Thank this. -
Only if you covet it.slow.rider and Lumper Humper Thank this.

I'd be concerned about the load, not logging yourself checking on it. I'd hate to answer the question from the bossman "reefer shut off, load is junk, did you check on it while home ?" Driver is rsponsible for the load , even when at home, unless truck is at co. terminal
Six9GS, nredfor88 and Lumper Humper Thank this.
