I stayed at a big Flying J last night, and the only trucks I saw that weren't idling had APUs when I turned in. It was a lot quieter in the morning with more trucks in the lot, other drivers may not like the racket too or have to cut back on idling.

That's not bad for me, I think I'm under 40% as it is and can't remember the last fuel bonus I got in spite being compliant.

    MIT Thanks this.

Yes, but June through September, in a lot of the country, it's too hot to not have air conditioning.

    MIT and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this.

If you're compliant I'd be asking where your $$ is. It always added up to an extra $1,200 - $1,400 for me per year.

Great, gate at the west Allis yard isn't working so I can't get to my truck...well, I did climb the fence because I left my bunk light on...but couldn't stock it up.

Also, I haven't seen that paperwork since whenever I get to a terminal it is the weekend or after the shop is closed!

I've been asking, but haven't got an answer yet. I'm not done trying either.

Have you guys seen the ads from Heartland? They mention a lot more money than we make.

    JOHNQPUBLIC Thanks this.

Yeah, I noticed that. And the flurry of messages explaining how if everything goes right we can make 60 com (extra 3 cpm doing 401k etc)

    HaglerFan Thanks this.

I did the math and if I was still there I'd make .61 per mile on weeks I hit 3,000 miles with straight pay. A little bit less between 2,500-3,000 where I normally was mileage wise.

I rarely stayed out longer than 10-14 days before taking 2-3 days off. I did do consistently better when I would stay out 3 weeks but that is pretty typical with every OTR trucking company.

I'm not sure who you've contacted but I always went directly to Craig if something was off which actually only happened once with me that I can remember. I was underpaid that time but did initially get something.

I always stayed on top of my pay and kept track of everything in a day planner I kept with me.

Only other issue I ever really had were a couple detentions that I had to ask for. I guess 1 fuel bonus and 2 detentions over 3.5 years isn't bad and I was paid for all of them.

Yeah, I run the same way, but I want/need to be home every weekend now and regional just doesn't pay. This company I'm looking at is percentage so I don't need to chase 2500+ just to make a good check.
