"A key measure of inflation, the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) index increased 3.6% year-over-year in April, according to recent Commerce Department data. Excluding food and energy, the index was up 3.1%, the highest level since 1992."
Lol, its amusing that their economists dont even know the definition of inflation.

Well 1200 miles that's why $4 a mile, that's easy running shorter loads. Let's see a 3500 mile week at $4 a mile
Good luck in Nebraska, I was there a little over a week ago and it sucked big time. Had to deadhead to Minnesota to get a good load.
If I can't at least do 3000 miles at $3+ a mile a week it's time to go back to flatbed.
That time is nearing.
I go and do wherever the money takes me.86scotty Thanks this. -
I'm with you on the last part, and lately money takes me to short runs.
I'll never do 3500 miles a week. I have no interest in it. 2000 is about my limit. I don't live in the wide open like you do though.gerardo1961 and SteveScott Thank this. -
I like short loads too if they are straight through. More often now I am seeing whole next day delivery for 100 mile loads, which generally ruins it.
I just had a 3600 mile week, don't like all those miles either but for right money which it was I'd it. It holiday weekend so it was either longer run or sitSteveScott Thanks this. -
In 2018 I was slacking off and rates back then, which I thought of as very good, were nowhere near those that we've had lately. The good rates of 2018 started in the Fall of 2017 and lasted about 12-14 months. So it is relatively not that long a time period. This year and this boom is so much stronger. It has been about 11-12 months already -started after those riots in all over the country. There is no telling how much longer it will go on but for as long as I get 4 -5 dol per mile on over 700-1000 runs I'll stay as busy for as long as I can. This way, I won't have any regrets when the good time comes to an end.
shatteredsquare, Vitkouski, SteveScott and 1 other person Thank this. -
You run a bigger area than we do but yeah that's what we've been avg the past few months even more some weeks 5.00 and upDave_in_AZ Thanks this.
