I to am an OOIDA member and supporter, but their truck insurance isn't the best priced, and a few years ago it wasn't recognized by all brokers and some shippers as a AAA rated company, and they wouldn't load trucks with OOIDA insurance. For a new driver, you will probably have to go thru a insurance broker that uses underwriters that will insure rookies. It will be high dollar for a year or too, then you can go thru Northland or Great West, which are the top two underwriters with the best rates. I would be happy to put you in touch with the agent I use, whom I feel has been very honest with what I need and not up selling coverage I don't.
