Thanks for letting me join the forum. Long story short, I am 28, ready to get out of the automotive industry repairing vehicles and just drive. I recently acquired my commercial learners permit. I was hoping to get on with some company sponsored training to get the ball rolling but have encountered a hurdle along the way. In 3 years I have 3 moving violations, first is improper passing of emergency vehicle, second is failure to obey stop sign (rolling stop) and finally one speeding ticket (16 over). It seems that this is a bit much for companies that offer the sponsored training. However, western express said they would take me on, but I'd have to get my cdl out of pocket.

Just looking for advice. I dont want to give up, but if waiting until the tickets fall off my mvr and returning to wrenching for a while is what I have to do, so be it.

Will also add that I am in top physical shape, no spouse, kids or anything. I'm willing to stay out weeks at a time. Nomadic personality, wont require much hometime. So if anyone would like to speak with someone level headed that needs a second chance, maybe I'm your guy.

Also, never been arrested, no accidents since 2013, never had a dui. Verifiable 4 year work history up until this day.

That 16 over is the problem. Trucking insurance companies rate that as 'reckless driving.'
As @Numb asked, where is your location.
Maybe can get cdl school paid for by the state.
If Western Express will hire you, then make that your goal.

Try Schneider. I believe that as long as you don’t have two of those speeding tickets they may hire you.
Just going on memory from something I read on their website a few years ago, lol.

Maybe a couple of tech schools or community college cdl programs that are cheap and high quality.
Most of those are under $2000 and some under $1000

Any school you're interested in, mention you already have a job lined up with Western Express, because some schools won't let you enroll with that 16 over ticket unless you have a job lined up.
Make sure you get all the endorsements before graduation.
