The Kroger warehouse in Cincinnati is still looking for me to have called in,
got told to go back in and tailgate a load of shrubbery. Since the fall of 1957.
What they will never know;when i left the phone booth, that I cranked up and
turned out of sight, I kept on going to Detroit. Shipper had told boss,F'em, Take
it here and have driver get the $7,000.00 before they start unloading. SWEET.

I have no issue tailgating, and I can often move as fast/faster than forklift can. The only slowdown with nursery loads are when I'm given an extended jack, and they've pinwheels the pallets.

Times change and things get better. You got pallets now? Ours was floor loaded, and kinda interlocked.
Does the name Juniper Fitzer bring a sharp feeling to you hands? Stubby little boogers like a porcupine.
Incidentally, Del Monte dried fruit was in cardboard boxes (say 24"L, 16" W, 8" H). No pallets. Wheeled
in on hand trucks, off the same way. Dried beans from Soledad. CA for China Doll in Mobile, Al were in
100 lb burlap bags, same way.

There’s a coffee shop in Lewes DE that is one of the banes of our terminal. They get it in 150 lb sacks and it’s always an inside delivery.

God forbid though the shipper forgets to pay us for the inside delivery charge. :biggrin_25523:

Used to work OSL&G at Lowes so got to handle lots of shrubs off the broken pallets and carts. My worst driver unload mistake was Del Monte at the Wal-Mart DC northeast of Houston. Lumper only had to straight pull, but driver unload was basically restacking the entire 44k load of grapes.

So most of you jave probably seen my homemade Dutch oven stove made from 2 old steel rims... Well I've been wanting to get a grilling rack to set on top of it, so I grabbed thus one while I was at ACE Hardware picking up some other stuff. I had not previously measured to see how big of one I needed, I just grabbed the one that looked about right. Well apparently the sun shines on a dogs ### every once in a while, because it fits like it was made for it!!!!
