Don't be so sure, I sold my last truck for 7500cad, on site bellow
look how many trucks are here in Ontario Canada under 20,000cad , this site is used mostly by private sellers for all kind of stuff.

Thanks for the responses. Here is more info:

the son said the father got cancer but is now in remission after awhile. Due to this, the son said the father gave it up (trucking) and went back home. The son drove out to the truck (hours away) and was waiting on me to arrive. I had already paid for the gas (in good faith on my part) to go show me the truck. Due to my not being able to get there in time (on a load and I’m still a company driver), he did a live viewing over the phone.

I did a CARFAX on the truck and everything adds up based on what he said. The son swears it’s a good truck and said he’s selling it cheap because he wants to start a business for his family.

I doubt the son is scamming me, but hey, it could be a “long con”.

What you do you all think? I want to be cautious and not get scammed, but I also don’t want to miss out on a deal. Hmmm...

Oh boy, you don’t get it, do you.

he can’t legally sign the title, it is a criminal act for him to do this and you to buy it.

You never pay for anything up front, that’s the sellers problem, you roll it into the sale price but again he can’t legally sign that title.

If YOU want to get it EVEN AFTER this advice, then give him $5k for the combo, have the titles sent to his dad FedEx next day with a return envelope and have his dad provide a copy of his id with his signature on it.

$5k is all it is worth.

@LB1 ...Everybody here has told you basically the same thing. Most of these guys have a lot of experience in this business and they can spot a scam.
If I were you I'd listen to what they say.
The chances are good that this is a scam.
    Let us know what happens.

Thank you all. I decided not to buy it.
It’s interesting that I had the exact same conversation with the son about his name not being on the title and how the father needed to do the transaction instead.

it all seemed just too fishy for me. I appreciate the honesty & experience here.

    OldeSkool and REO6205 Thank this.

Yeah, the son cannot sign his name (the sons) on the title. DMV will kick it back.

    Solo Soul Thanks this.
