I would. I recommend them because they really suit a new driver. Good training, good thorough orientation and safe. They really put the effort into guiding you in the right direction.

These are all great places but you'll earn every penny. Might want to get your experience somewhere you can focus on the driving part and not blisters on your hands, feet and a broken back lol. How often do you see a food truck delivery mid day? They run all night then drive home during rush hour in most cases. Drive otr, see the country, learn the industry and then search for something you know fits you.

Set up a CDL permit appointment with the DOL in three weeks. I hope three weeks is enough to pass the exam.

In less than four years trucking has taken me from barely making ends meet and living in an ancient rundown trailer house rental... To living comfortably in my own home and my wife can be a stay at home mother to our 3 children.

I wouldnt say that I'm "Livin' high on the Hog" by no means... But I'm comfortable.

I don't think being a trucker is for everyone. However, you ain't gonna know either way till you try it. Also, lots of different options when it comes to being a trucker. I'm an OTR, not dedicated, West Coast reefer jockey and love it. I don't think I could stand being a dedicated driver with a fixed route or a local driver. Others are fairly opposite of me and want local, or fixed or dedicated stuff.
So, give it a try, if it don't fit you, try something else. If you start off doing OTR and find it doesn't suit you, switch to local. Lots of room for different options with trucking. Regardless, trucking just isn't the thing for some. Hard to know until you do.
So, get your feet wet and give a try!

The practice tests on this site can be a huge help, and there's others can be found elsewhere on the Internet too. Best bet is to sample a mix of different ones. Keep going till you're aceing them all.

So many different kinds of “trucking”. The more specialized the better pay. The more physically demanding, the more time away, the better pay. Don’t go long haul unless you have a passion for it. You’ll hate it otherwise. Truckload pay sucks compared to LTL. Private carrier is way better than common-carrier....Those are all generalizations. There are exceptions.
