Fees would range from 2.5 cents per mile for vehicles weighing 26,000 to 28,000 pounds up to 17.5 cents per mile for trucks weighing over 80,000 pounds, the Connecticut Mirror reports.
The truck-only highway user fee would go into effect in January 2023.

Simple... don't haul anything to Connecticut and don't pass through there. Let them go and get their own food and supplies. We don't have to take it to them.

I mean......Connecticut is a small ### state. To go the length of 84 is like 80 miles.....at 2 cpm that's a couple of bucks. If you're in and out of CT as in occasional loads there, it won't be noticeable. The locals on the other hand, who run there with regularity may feel the pinch some.
Coffey and Trucker61016 Thank this. -
You realize it's just the beginning. It may seem very minimal now but just look at my "beat their citizens broke" state PA. The Pa turnpike goes up 5-6% every year for the next 30 yrs. We have the highest fuel tax. Now their considering a $2 toll both ways on I-83 bridge around capital. We want more so we can waste more mentality.

I'm waiting for the guy to show up that says, "Well good, if none of you will go into Connecticut then that's more freight for me", the guy that doesn't see the bigger picture. As far as I'm concerned you could keep Connecticut before this tax, after this tax, and long after I'm gone.
Dino soar, Coffey, Last Call and 1 other person Thank this.
