Warning all leased O/O

This has been one helluva thread. I am really glad to see the brotherhood on this topic. Not only for the trucking community but all around.

 

I'd bet they simply turn into a giant freight brokerage outfit, they already have their broker divisions don't they? What will happen is everybody leasing actual owned equipment on somewhere, not lease purchase at Prime, will simply get their own authority and run the boards.

 

Honestly if this would only affect trucking I’d be fairly indifferent to it. I can get my own authority and carry on, and it would get rid of the 1099 employees and the people playing truck owner doing a lease purchase. But the PRO act would be such a disaster for small businesses across the board it wouldn’t even be funny. At least with trucking we sort of have an out whether it’s getting authority or entering into a 2 check system, but a lot of other people wouldn’t be so lucky.

 

They pay settlements with 2 checks. One for the leased equipment and a W2 for the driver……

 

A fair tax that everyone pays from the poorest to the richest eliminating income tax will never happen. There's just too many people envious of the "rich" or well to do people who have put in the work (or not, and absolutely there's nothing wrong with inherited wealth imo) and they want to soak them with taxes just out of pure jealousy. What really ticks me off, and this is veering off topic, but the government doesn't really HAVE to soak anyone with taxes. They can print however much money they want. Look what they have printed since 2020. I dont see a problem with it at all. I'm sure lots of people will consider that lunacy but they CAN do it. Amd people can talk about the Weimar Republic or Zimbabwe hyper-inflation all they want but I dont see that ever happening in the USA.

 

Did you ever think you'd see going to church being against the law in the USA? The last year should have shown everybody that there is nothing, and I mean nothing, that CAN'T happen here. Weimar republic, Zimbabwe, Venezuela, fall of the Roman empire, none of that is out of the question.

This has nothing to do with taxes, the government collects its taxes one way or another, this has to do with control of as many industries as possible on the federal level. The states are weak, the people have been conditioned to think the federal government is where all power comes from, and the people are too lazy, especially in this industry “give me my paycheck and leave me alone!”.

 

So true. When it comes to the Feds, there is no different in parties. They are both one in the same...the Uniparty.

 

Bingo! Glad to see someone knows their History. Those who don't see it happening are either blind, ignorant or both. Socialism and Marxism have a death grip in this country.
