Nope....I've done 1099 in the past, they kept the paychecks but they didn't leave me stranded.....in order to get home, you gotta beat em at their game. When a driver goes to an under established company, he/she has to know they are going to get screwed on the back end. I did them to get my life back on track, and to rehab my career. Sole purpose. I knew it going in, and played by their rules long enough to get something better. So I won't say I was all the way defeated.

Running solo under this authority for a smidge over 11 months. It is not perfect but, I gross and bring home (net) the same or more than Independent O/Ops (the ones who are honest about their lanes, miles, rates). It isn’t perfect. It isn’t large but, not very small and, it is not a good company for new drivers, first time LP-O/Op or first time L-O/Op.

    A couple of major takeaways:

    1. They are not Russian. They are Croatian. These are the same people from the Bosnia conflict in the 90’s. They like Americans and, there are a lot of them in Chicago. The same as there are a lot of Black people in the South and a lot of White people in Iowa. If you’re a flaming racist, unconfirmed White nationalist or just hateful towards hardworking immigrants, either get over it or keep it moving.
    2. She’s right, they pay for very, very little. Almost everything is on you regardless of if you rent, lease or bring your own truck. They may pay up front but, it’s coming out of your settlement. They will break large things like the insurance deductible (up to $2500 if it’s your fault) or fines for DOT driver violations up. If a violation is against the truck or trailer for a preventable issue (ie light bulb) then they fine you also. BTW: I have no speeding tickets and, they quickly and successfully disputed a 2 minute log violation for me. I’ve never been fined (my cousin has which is how I know).
    3. Loyalty, a solid work ethic and good communication skills are very important to them.
    4. They’re actually nice but, they can get an attitude and get snappy (just like everybody else in operations, in every other company, of any size).
***The only difference is when you snap back you’re not losing your income/contract/job over knee jerk reactions.
    5. This place is very similar to Landstar without the Load Board but, they use darn near every load board out there and will go after Freight for you if you see something before them.
    6. Most of their “dispatchers” are actually brokers and/or broker’s agents.
    6. They have some bad dispatchers and some good dispatchers (Just like everybody else) but, they don’t mind running off a bad one. My first dispatcher/planner was trash and he is not here anymore. I only had him for two months. Numbers were ok but, not what most of their fleet makes. I have a great one now.
    7. Nothing is forced. If you’ve hit your gross for the week and you’re done, then you’re done.
    8. They have very few company drivers. So few, I’ve never seen one. EVER.
    9. After they negotiate your rates, book your load and send you your rate confirmation via email then that’s YOUR load. You communicate directly with brokers, shippers, receivers.

Bottom Line: There is no hand holding here. “Orientation” is 1-2 hours and you’re out. This is an EXPERIENCED owner operator company and, you can make a lot of money here. IF you have a friend or family member here it’s easier because you have someone to talk to.

I grossed 200k from July to Dec last year.
I am a little over 200k now. I gross 7-10k per week. My average take home is 2800 to 5500 per week. My worst week, I ran 2 loads still brought home $1981 after all expenses.

AGAIN: YOU PAY EVERYTHING. IFTA, HUT, Insurance DEDU, Tolls, FUEL, Preventable repairs, Tire damage from nails (but not normal wear and tear), etc.

When I started it was 90% if you bring your truck and 80% if you LP/rent.

They will preplan you to Heaven if you run good. I get preplanned on Wednesday’s all the way to Monday and I don’t talk/text/email my planner until Monday. I mostly use text and email to communicate because of the documentation.

Last I saw the referral bonus was a joke ($250 I think) so I have ZERO incentive for you to come here.

Anywhoo, sorry so long just giving another side from a realistic, current O/Op.

You need a TWIC and Hazmat. You can use a TWIC escort but, that’s not always guaranteed to be available.

    Yes, I’m a girly giiirrrl
No, there aren’t a lot of us here but, the Safety Director here is too and she rocks!

    Lmk if you have questions,
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

    Curtsy and I’m out

The “AAA” is actually an old school way of naming companies so you will be higher up on the listing in the phone book. AAA Cooper is an older company that did this...

Informative write up... It's interesting to hear from a driver with a different side to the story. If you're fairly new to this site, you should know that many members here seem to take a lot of these reviews with a grain of salt, that is we read them and make snappy replies, but that doesn't mean we've accepted them as factual...
Typically I don't make up my mind about a company until I've read several reviews from several different drivers. Usually if there are more bad reviews than good, it's a sign from above.;)

Not sure what your exact angle is but, no I am not new to the site or the industry. Not sure why you felt I needed “advice”. This site is full of lies and half truths just like this industry. I’ve had a class A since 2004. Ive been on and off the road by choice and I have worked in operations and safety and training at a large 4PL. I’ve seen a lot. You just have to pick the truth from it. Every blue moon someone comes along and tells something close to the truth. This profile is from 2017. I had another profile before this one that I forgot about. I comment some and sometimes I don’t. I was unaware of the “Russian” trucking companies until I started here. I think that is the biggest misconception and it stirs a lot of fear and mistrust. I decided to provide a different perspective by sharing MY EXPERIENCE at a company, I am somewhat familiar with. 2-3 years from now maybe my perspective will change but, for now this is what it is. If you can use it great, if you can’t great and if you have questions, I’m open to that. The rest of this little ego crap on this site, I’ll pass on....

    What’s a surprise .

A trucking company run by Russian / former Soviet communists ,

Based out of Chicago that screws the drivers.

im shocked that such a thing happens.

Here’s a news flash; Anyone that works with former Soviet Russian commies or works with any company based in Chicago , is gonna get screwed come payday.

think the hardworking immigrants aren’t racists and prejudiced ?
Accidentally call a Croatian a Bosnian or Russian or whatever because you’re not sure where they are from , the names are all interchangeable, and see how they react . Each ethnic group over there absolute hates all the other ethnic groups . They hate them so bad that after they got through trying to kill all of the other people that were from a different group / tribe than themselves, they all moved to the states because they had destroyed their own countries.
