2000 Pete 379 daycab. Driver said the AC is freezing up on him during the day and blowing hot air.

Can anyone give me guidance on what to look for and where it’s located in this truck, ie. thermostat or hose I need to look for etc. or any tricks to checking it out? I’m not too familiar with the ac side of these trucks.

    thanks a ton!

Possibly moisture in the system. You would need to evacuate to system, replace the ac dryer and put new freon in

Turn the fan speed up and don’t turn the temperature control knob all the way to the cold side. Turn the temp knob just a little to the right so the ac pump can kick off once in a while. Sounds like it’s freezing up.
