If all goes well, I will be going to the January 18th class in Marshfield Wisconsin. Waiting to get my contract and I also need to get my physical and permit. It's encouraging to hear others having gone through the training and have been hired by Roehl. That's my biggest concern, getting hired after the training.

From Milwaukee we'll keep everyone posted on my progress.

    Hey there..
    Fellow Milwaukee guy here. :biggrin_25520:

I drove up to Marshfield in October and visited with Roehl in person.
Nice yard and place. Sorta in the middle of nowhere technically and with class like 6 days a week (?) - its a long haul back home for the weekend, if thats even possible. I think it took me 3hrs or so but I'm not sure since I took some side roads and went through a small town or 2. Seemed to take forever to get to a main thruway from their terminal..

As long as you pass RDTC, I am sure you will progress onto the EVO phases.
No place can give you a promise to hire in writing but as long as you completed the school - there shouldn't be any worry.

As far as me, I already have my CDL but Roehl wants me to either hit RDTC or a private/vocational school (one they recognize) before starting with them. (been off the road too long) I have looked at my options and I think I will hit Eagle Driver Training in Rockford IL (or the Lake in the Hills) location. It's a 4 week school, and I can come home on the weekends, since I think the 85mile commute might be pushing it during the week. But it costs more money for private school, compared to the ~ $2800 with RDTC. Roehl will reimburse you for private school, but it takes a long long time to get the money back. And they cap the reimbursement at $2800 (naturally) - but thats fair.

A private school just gives me more options. Every driver that Eagle has supplied to Roehl is still working for Roehl....that shows something..

    :biggrin_255:

Roehl is a decent and HONEST company. Hard to get into, so if you got accepted, your off to a great start. They are fussy about who they hire.

I really appreciate your post and it makes me think I've made the right decision. I will stay up there for the three weeks and not come home on the weekend breaks.

Good luck with the eagle trucking driving school.

    Hanadarko Thanks this.
