I’m limping along with a 13” MBP from 2010. It’s OS locked a few versions back and I’ve upgraded it with a new battery and maxed out the RAM… it’s served me well until recently when both Excel/Word and Numbers/Pages stopped working… so ya, I really need to shell out the coin for a new M1/M1X/M2 model.
Just haven’t decided if I’ll go MBP/MBA or mini/TV or iMac with a vesa mount.

I guess Apple had Media Event after the Keynote but no one is reporting anything… I’m assuming a NDA was involved or else someone would be reporting something.

I know others that are still using MBPs from the the 2010 era, it's amazing how long they last, but compatibility with the latest application versions is definitely starting to weigh heavy. Prior to my 2015, that I bought in 2016, I used an IBM Thinkpad from about 2006. I loved that machine with it's 4:3 aspect ratio, but it was sorely needing replacement. Probably more so than your 2010. lol. Now that I'm on macOS, there is no going back to Windows. It's either macOS or Linux from here out. And macOS has the benefit of ARM now. Amazing performance. -

Ya, I’m eyeing both the MBA and Mac mini… my needs are simple so I don’t “need” a pro model… I have my mobile needs covered with iPad so I could go either way. And both those options would be half the price of an iMac …. But I hear that 4.5k screen looks awesome.
