I don't know what "starchy" taste is like... The yellow corn here in Brasil, doesn't taste dry IMO. Its texture is just like the one in the US but it's not sweet.
Actually I don't like sweet corn... I have tried to find not sweet corn in the US markets, even farmers' markets but to no avail...
Was visiting a friend somewhere in MD and asked her to take me to her friend's farm and was able to get some "field corn"... they were great, not sweet, almost like the ones in Brasil...
Here in Brasil there's what they call "green corn"... never paid much attention to that... not sure if that is sweet... Next time I go to the street market, will ask about the sweet corn... if I remember...

It's possible... notice for instance that folks in China and other countries enjoy their "bat soup" among other "delicacies"...singlescrewshaker, DeereRunner97, cke and 7 others Thank this.

China is a pretty nasty place for the most part. I'm sure it has gotten better now though. They grew so quickly that their cities couldn't keep up. They had street carts that would sell cooked rodents on a stick/skewer. There weren't very many rodents around....lol. when they got industrialized in earnest, soooo many people flocked to the cities for a better life it wasn't even funny. I imagine that is why the "delicacies" do so well in the cities. Alot of folks trying to eat what they used to.G13Tomcat, singlescrewshaker, DeereRunner97 and 5 others Thank this.

Yeah that's the one I was thinking of. I don't know if they're still in business or not. I just remember when Uber was starting to broker freight, reading that they were basing their brokerage after that model.
That's been a few years ago now, so it's possible they changed their plans.G13Tomcat, Lostkeys, singlescrewshaker and 5 others Thank this. -
I think they are, but Uber sold off 500 million of thier brokerage in 2020. Come to find out they could not reinvent the wheel as they thought.G13Tomcat, Lostkeys, singlescrewshaker and 5 others Thank this.
