I have never seen a transfer type dump truck in Texas, just semi hopper trailers and side dumps. Also end dump trailers.

I'm not sure about transfer trucks but I'm pretty sure in Nevada they use bottom dumps.

And if you're open to where you're moving to Arizona may use them also but I'm not sure about the transfer dump..

Transfers are still used here in Nevada. Belly dumps are used on almost every job here. We run double set ups at 129,900 gvw.

Whats the benefit of a belly dump vs a end dump? There is only one outfit that I've ever seen in my area that has any; and they do something different than about anybody; as their product is uncommon & they haul their own stuff so I expect the equipment has something to do with the unloading facility/

End dumps here are used more so for haul outs. Broken concrete and asphalt. Some base material for the smaller jobsites. Belly dumps can bring in 40-45 tons when pulled as trains into a site. Belly dumps here are used mostly to bring in a lot of dirt to lift a site. When there’s 10 or so trains on a job. They can move 300-400 tons per round.

Interesting. We don’t have trains out here. Different local states have different allowances on combos depending on axles and sometimes bridge law, depending on which state a truck is in, and sometimes what it is hauling/

Operator error/ roll over is the biggest difference…you can get 40 tons of most material in a 36-37’ end dump….. maybe not legally.

I don’t believe you’ll ever see them in the northeast. But what do I know, I don’t get out much

Belly dumps don't tip over, unless you are really talented
