I was never taught to push in the fifth wheel handle either.
But I was taught to do a tug test, and to visually inspect that the jaws were locked and that the handle had retracted fully.

    2. electrical lines in yard got snagged on cat walk and ripped electrical box off trailer in 2019. They labeled that as “left turn incident”
That seems more likely when turning sharply to the right.
But then, we do need to make sure those lines are 'how many' inches above the catwalk for clearance?
And that can happen even without snagging anything if that connector is weak.

    #3 is totally on you.

10 years for me, and I have also taken my job seriously from day one.
    Too many do not.

    Have you heard?
Swift is now in the top 10% of companies in the nation for safety.

hey hero. Never once did I say I didn’t take responsibility for these situations. Did you know that the words you say can change someones perspective of a situation and it’s severity? For example “left turn incident” for many without a detailed explanation of what happened may come across as a collision instead of what actually happened.

#1 I'm not 100% clear on what happened. Near as i can tell, you dropped a trailer onto the truck frame? If so, there's only 2 possible causes: defective equipment, or driver negligence.

In #2, pretrip negligence resulted in damage to the vehicle while it was in motion. The pigtail collided with the catwalk. That's in the same ballpark as hitting a tree. Company depiction is accurate in my view.

In #3, was it a typo? Really happening in WA or MI instead of WI? Maybe you can skate on a technicality on that one, but in my view the incidents do accurately depict a pattern: lack of attention to detail which could result in catastrophe.

    Just my $0.02.

    We all make rookie mistakes.

Stay away from megas and life goes on.
Millions of trucking companies don't bother with dac or whatever is out there. And could care less.

Thanks for the only response in regards to my question man. How do I know who uses these reports and who doesn’t

You claimed that "they are false," but they aren't false, hence the effort to save you time and legal expense.

When someone reports missing or inaccurate data that would fall under that category of false reporting. If you are the type of person that would leave it as is on your report then that’s your decision. My question on this forum isn’t if I was right or wrong or what I should do. It was who hires that doesn’t look at these reports.

as I stated in previous messages… as far as the trailer dropping I did my pre trip with tug test and checked underneath to see if it was latched which it was. After the incident I was asked if I pushed the handle in because even if it looks latched in extreme cold that is not always the case and just a little bit of slack (even an inch of play) can cause it to become unlatched. Also as stated before I was NEVER told to do that once in my driving career and I made them annotate that because they were basically blaming me for this happening due to a check that was never brought to my attention. I’m not diverting responsibility about what happened but I want the true story on my report. “Pull park pos” doesn’t tell a potential employer anything

Why does everyone just say to find a company that doesn't use Hireright, Ten Street, ect? When they send the past employment request the previous company will just put it on the request.
