It is getting tough to get a job, I know Werner turned down one of the students at my school for am MIP (Minor In Posessiono of Alcohol) 30 years ago and also had a suspended license for a failing to pay a non moving violation ticket.
Has not been able to get hire on, even though he had a few pre-hires.
Now, I believe he is looking into getting himself insured and finding an O/O to hire and train him, although I dn't now how that is going to work.
I told him I would try and find some info or him... So if you have an ideas or suggestions le me know. He is a great guy and was a good student.
Will a misdemeanor hold me back...

Ya'll keep messing with the BIG outfits, you'll never get anywhere. Get hired on with a small company. there are like a thousand small companies to each big company. Best Of Luck !!!!!!

I have heard about getting your record expunged... I hear it is costly... and I don't know how well it works either.
I know he got a suggestion to get an EIN, and spell his name just a little differently and it will be like having a new Identity.. But that sounds shady and I doubt it would work
Before you spend your money on getting your record expunged check and make sure it will actually work and help you get hired. -
i pulled this off the national driver registry web site. looks like they only go back three years also .
Any information on the NDR file that was reported by the states during the past 3-years will be disclosed. -
Run a search on pre-hires here . They aren't worth the paper they are written on . All too many people rejected at orientation found that out .
Carriers are required by FMCSA to check the past 3 years but most go back beyond that . Carriers aren't the only ones that check your record . We had a driver find out his license was suspended when the company rented a truck from Ryder and they ran his MVR . -
SSMetal,
Thanks, for the info....... -
Not all states drop it from your MVR. Texas does not drop DWI/DUI's, it's a permanent record. It does not show in the last three years but if you pull a lifetime MVR history. It will show. -

Not likely...not right now. You likely will have to wait until the economy gets better. Trucking companies have a ton of applicants that are clean and they typically choose from them...
Once the economy picks up, they will need more drivers and maybe less picky... of course when that actually is, remains to be seen..
