Prepaid lumper seems to be getting moar common on a lot of my loads. If they all went this way wouldn't bother me a bit. Sure makes the process easier for the driver.

Mr. Lamar Quinn, lumbers have been around for decades before deregulation.
I remember riding with my cousin and having to pay them to load a truck at the docks, and then paying to unload the truck at a warehouse and this was around 1972. He just charged his customer.Trucker61016, Lumper Humper, Blue jeans and 3 others Thank this. -

I'd like nothing more to see Lumpers go bye bye but since their usually union I doubt it'll happen anytime soon. Although making them unload in a reason time frame and not forcing the driver to pay would go a long way to alleviating alot of the issue

if i was to still be working and unloading a full 53 foot trailer loaded with cigarettes, i'd want a lumping crew in there.
my company paid for those guys.
as it was, they were well organized in the process from bumping the dock, to leaving. very efficient, and fast too.Fltdds, Trucker61016 and Lumper Humper Thank this.
