100% truth. I once hit an appalachian on one of those that I had to take in 4th gear. I could have walked faster. And this is on a 2 lane road with no shoulder, traffic stacking up behind you....

Just be happy, 40,or 50 some years ago 77 was rebuilt and its way better than it was. I only know this from history and old hands. I'm to young to have driven old 77. But the stories were gruesome.

    GREETINGS ALL,

Having driven I-77 for a few Years, I enjoyed it with light and heavy loads.
I especially dug the fun of climbing and descending Flat Top in the Hillbilly.
Some Winters yet mostly Spring and Summer.
The FUN began and ended in the Tarheel!

YES, the "alternate route" to PA. up/down Rt 19 was most enjoyable winters and summers because usually LESS TRAFFIC 'specially at nights/early mornings.

Like the MANY ROUTES thru Valleys and over Mountains, they ADDED EXCITEMENT to the Adventures in Freight Relocation.

Want some more Hills and Thrills fun?
Run I-64 from Charleytown to I-81 or the reverse.

PA offers so many diverse Routes that I had not travelled yet the ones I had were incredibly exciting as well dangerous, but that's just another aspect in 40 Ton Transportation.

Ain't No Feelin' Like 40 Ton Wheelin'!!
    CHEERS!!
