Yes for the first in my opinion and no for the second. There is no literal point and click but there are ways to book more efficiently.

if you know a few of the agents you can run where you want. i basically run from texas out and back. home nearly every weekend and lots during the week. ive seen a lot of dallas area "local" loads recently also. you can make a good living (in my opinion based on my income needs) just running regional or in my case texas.

I'm sure there's plenty of Reefer loads in the area, there should be some fresh postings in the morning

There was 151 posted last I looked, 31 failed calls and at least 15 duplicates of those as well. So that's like 30% of listings each individually confirmed null with no exception.

Sorry if I'm using your thread just to vent steam. Lately it just seems that the board may as well only be open like 7am to 1pm Tuesday thru Friday. It's rough if I become available outside those hours. Like if mechanic is working on my truck, I don't want to book anything until it's confirmed there's no more parts need to be ordered. If he gets to that point Friday afternoon, I could be stuck until next Tuesday.

But in the time when it's easy to book a load off the board, it's really easy, and I can often book myself out a week in less than an hour, including time spent waiting for each confirmation before calling on the next. In times like that, frustrations with the empty board melt away pretty quick. So in the bad times I still know in the back of my mind, yes there are other times when it's fish in a barrel.

Do some agents just use the board as a way to get their phone number out there? Like they see canceling a load to be tantamount to deleting a free ad? I'm guessing spot market activity times is comparable to the LS board. Do you use public boards? If so, how often do you run into similar phenomena where old listings are kept up?
