One of my favorites is heading east on I90, climbing Lookout in Idaho with perfect roads, to be met with hard packed snow the minute you get to the top/Montana border, for the trip down.

If you want a heck of a mountain climb, take route 54 in Pa from i80 and make your way through the small towns and huge inclines working over to i81....that will give your engine a workout going up, and then it's a 20mph truck speed limit for some of the steep grades.....

I was going to mention that road. Locust Gap Road. I got off at the Danville exit to take a "shortcut" down to the Walmart DC near Pottsville. The "shortcut" saved me about 65 miles because otherwise I would have had to take I-80 to I-81, and then down and back to Pottsville. However, "saving" those 65 miles actually ADDED an hour to my trip. It was a pretty cool drive though.

I think I took that stretch a few times going from FL to Columbus OH. Its a wave of hills and not may places to stop, that I remember. Then I would take a series of highways the rest of the way. That was always done overnight, in my case. We had an early morning pick up in Orlando then we had to be in Columbus the next morning, if memory serves right.

It's not the best, but not the worst either. It will make you work a little, in more ways than one. And the co driver in the back has to work at sleeping also.
