Hey guys,
I've been working as a freight agent for about 3 months and have only moved 1 load (less than 10% margin).
Is this normal? I hear people moving loads after 1 week. I make about 30-40 calls/day.
I don't want to give up but at the same time, I don't want to keep beating a dead horse.
3 months in and only 1 load

Pay more money to the carriers

@Deepg
If you're not booking loads, there's a reason.
Listen to the feedback you're getting from your prospects.
Do the loads not pay fairly?
Do the shipper or receiver have bad reputations for delays?
Where are the loads going?
Lanes that are easy to get follow on load out of are more attractive than loads going into dead zones.
If they're going into dead zones, find a load for your driver that gets them out of the dead zone so they're not stuck for days.
The main reason most sales people fail is they miss seeing things from the clients perspective.
I owned my own company for 16 years.
I could sell ice cubes to Eskimos.
I listened to my potential clients, learned what was important to them, and played to solve their problems.
You can tell people how great you are till you're blue in the face.
They still won't bite.
Your selling position must help them solve some aspect of their life that's an issue.
Truckers want to make money.
We make money by rolling forward, delivering goods.
Sitting costs us money.
Figure out how to present your loads in a fashion that lets drivers make a few bucks, keeps them rolling, and everybody wins in the end. -
Did you have experience working at a agent or broker before starting your own ?
-
So, you haven’t found any customers is what your saying?
