Has anyone checked trans fluid? Does it have a water cooled trans cooler?
Seen a isx rebuilt twice for this problem.
Now I'm stretching and can't recall model. But wasn't it a eaton trans that had the aluminum case with coolant passages internal, only used a few years and abandoned for being garbage. Its been 10 years since I was looking for a back section for one. Dont remember the model.Rideandrepair, D.Tibbitt, spsauerland and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's the head. Taking it back to that same mechanic next week

Was it the lightning? It was a aluminum case that was not used long. But coolant passages and when it was worn the bearing cups wore into housing. I spent three weeks locating a good back half cover. Tried to get them to put a FRO in. Company wouldn't do it.spsauerland and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
FRO was older and not even close to the same design. While I do not like the Metric, FRO. Its twice the trans as the turd I'm thinking off.
