Would like to give my 01 N14 CP a little more fuel, safely and possibly upgrade turbo. The engine is a 475hp model. I see manifold and turbo upgrade sold in a kit but fuel wise, the options look thin to none. Can you do anything with the pumps on these engines? I understand the engine is tired but I would like to do a rebuild this winter. I have a enough sense to make the truck last until then but would like a little more out of it for the rest of summer and fall.

What cpl do you have and how much power do you want? Usually 475 can go to 525/1850 with just ecm reflash

Mine is a 460 /1650 Celect Plus from the factory, and I had ATE here in Phoenix flasher to 565/1850.
The truck was like night and day after I got it back. I’m at right about 2 million on the engine without a rebuild, I’ve only done rods and mains internally. -
I think factory specs will top out at 1650 torque. You're best option IMO would be an aftermarket tuner.
Watch it though, they are often hot -

You need to find a celect plus ECM

Cummins has 855 in gen set applications at 605hp, they don't have fretting issues, it was not until cummins tried to compete with cat and recommended pulling engines down to 1200rpm that the block fretting started happening, if a person drives a N14 like an old mechanical they will not have any bottom end issues.
