FedEx Freight is a career trucking job. It’s at the top of trucking jobs that pay the most. Ability to make 100k+ on linehaul or city P&d and pretty good benefits and retirement. Home every day and most major holidays off. It’s a LTL job which is a great industry to have a career in. Take it seriously.

 

Right, take it seriously and don't take chances with the drug test.
Look at it long term. Go with a company that does only urine test for now, then in 12 mos. go with FedEx.
If you fail a drug test with FedEx, you will never again be considered for a job there.

FedEx will not hire you trust me I tried...not to damper your mood but most LTL Companies will only hire outside if you have 6months to a year experience. Any trainee or apprenticeship program is for there inside workers. Which by all rights make sense. Give the guy who has already worked for us for years a chance to drive. It's gonna be difficult bc they want you to work the docks loading trucks and there isn't a time limit on it. It's possible you could be working for 6 months and maybe eligible or you may work there 10 years and then be eligible. If your willing to wait then go for it. If not then go else where. You'll probably have a better chance driving regional or over the road. At least give some 6 months to a year of your time trust me after that you'll be getting offers left and right. I'm new to this as well but my unc(40+yrs) my brother(20+yrs) and cousin(10+yrs) all cdl a drivers have said the same thing. 1 year and your for sure for sure good.

 

And yes unfortunately stay away for hair test but be warned more and more companies especially the big wigs are doing hair and urine not just one or the other. And from what I hear STAY AWAY FROM SWIFT....LIKE FAR AWAY FROM SWIFT...Don't ask why but most drivers including family members and a cousin that dispatches told me to stay far away from Swift. Not sure where you live but try J.B. Hunt or U.S. Xpress. Pepsi maybe another good place to start. Just keep putting in the work blasting the places with your applications. Also if your school has a hiring board you should go check it out. Call some of the recruiters. Again you maybe be regional or OTR(over the road) but again if you're willing to sacrifice 6 months to a year of your time you will be fine after that.
