    .

trucking is a warehouse job on wheels now almost anyone with half a brain can do it and therefore the wages suck .At least around the GTA.
From the job hunting i’ve been doing local dry and and reefer work is $20-$25 a hr ,local fuel hauling and flat bed is $26-$32 . problem is most of those companies want experience in those specific areas of work . i see sysco is advertising $28 a hr but there’s a reason the food service companies are always looking for drivers it can be back breaking work .

i only paid $2500 to get my license in 2008 the problem is we have way too many new drivers flipping their rigs over on every #### corner . just last thursday a shaan driver rolled over on the 427 n ramp from 401 east bound . now the government has put more stricter rules in which has put the cost up

Try Martin Brower. We're hiring right now. Start at least $25/hr. Top rate is now $35/hr. It's not like other food service companies. Everything is taken off on a lift gate on carts or with an electric pallet jack. It's very easy. Just don't expect to work Mo IMG_0558.jpg day to Friday.

thanks for the heads up , but here’s the other thing in the spring of 2023 i’m looking at buying a house up in north bay or even further north because i can buy a house with lots of property cheap . i can pay cash and be totally debt free what’s your thoughts everyone else’s options on that . i’m not the job hopping type should i just stay put until then or move on now . i am kind of thinking wait until i buy a house then find something up north it’s going to happen in 2023 100%

They say three years but I've heard they hire guys with less. Depends on how hard it is for them to find drivers. When they put a sign up outside, they must be having a hard time finding guys.

I would stay, City be the hour, is reliable and predictable. As many of my friends are finding out, food service, fuel, dump, food grade tanker CLAIM to be by the hour, but really its all "by the load". So if a trailer isn't ready, something takes 2X as long, or they flat out don't have work; you make NOTHING! Also lots of dispatch games, bribes, underhanded #### in all those industries. The head city guy where I'm working in Calgary (Medium Sized Company) has been here 25 years (5 OTR 20 Daycab by the hour). I think he's in the $26-$28/hr +OT Range, but as he says "I make that regardless". I can tell you in my 2 months of dedicated LCV, I make less "rate" on paper vs US OTR/ABL, but I'm Netting the same or more per mile; only working 5 days a week 3 nights in the truck.

Wages are also based on location, my employer offers 20% higher income if I live in GTA where homes are averaging over $800K,,,a area I would not move to for any money...I prefer quiet locale and privacy of my early colonial slum dwelling in the frozen tundra:D
