I have the 270. 16" homeowners version. Those professional grade ones your spec ing are 3x the price. A tiny bit lighter and maybe a bit bigger engine but IMO not worth it. Buy a 200$ 16" Stihl and use it for a few hours every day for a few days until you get thru whatever needs doing immediately. It's a manageable size to keep from scuffing up your leg or arm and get the feel for all the back and shoulder muscles you're going to need. Cutting is only part of it. Still have to push trees around and haul lots of cut logs. You're not going to notice the extra 1.5lb on the homeowners model vs the pro model and you've got 400$ left to buy lots of bar oil and 3 extra chains to change out while you're in the woods eating rocks and grown in nails or barb wire...
Having a spotter is good.
Cutting your spotter by accident is bad. Man in Virginia killed his wife accidentally turning around with the saw in his hand while they were clearing up after a hurricane. She was right behind him...
Go slow. It's not a race and not a joke. That tool can make a mess fast.
Also. Keep it well lubed and tight
