They were paying around $3.50 a mile for the loads we did for them. That was when rates were in the crapper. Light loads but was like pulling parachutes behind the truck.

Your picture reminded me of this place I parked many years ago.... It was as freezin as freezin hell.... and windy too.... Back then, the company trucks didn't have an APU... and they had an idle "policy" that really sucked...

I would not live in a truck with no APU anymore....
