The Clowns are everywhere. Let's do an O/S load for a legal load rate. Now the rates are dropping. I see one for $ 1.00 p m.,,,,

It's always been like that and always will be.

The money has been too good for a while. More trucks came to join the fun and now there are too many trucks trying to make a living doing the same thing.
The times will become worse. The weak will not survive on poor rates, will lose their trucks and go back to what they were doing before. Then there'll be more room and the rates will be better until they are very good again, too good to be ignored by new hopefuls.

They don't have new trucks being made a good rate we should be ok until end of year. Chip shortage is supposed to get better around October, then we get Christmas rush and then too much capacity at start of new year. Save the money.

The two weeks before the 4th of July were historically my best weeks for the last few years. I'm not running through brokers or off the boards right now, but I looked at a Convoy load this morning that was offering $7.20 per mile on 900 miles for a load of Budweiser out of Fairfield. That's the highest I've ever seen a one of their loads, and there were a couple more in the $6-6.50 range. There is only one left now at $5.71 per mile heading to Washington. These shippers are desperate for trucks out here right now. I'm turning down great paying loads almost daily. TQL has been calling me all day, and I have to keep reminding them that I canceled my carrier agreement with them 2 years ago because they're a crappy broker.

If that chip factory went up in flames we'd all be millionaires over the next 3 years?

So glad I left the spot market. The only way my rate fluctuates now is the fuel surcharge and I never wait anywhere I go. 3 days a week on the road and 4 days a week at home. Spot market is a waste of time.

I see your point but a lot of us feel otherwise. Most of the time it's brokers calling us for a truck more often than us searching for loads
