I just checked the HD footage of the accident. It matches exactly with what I remember. No stop signs and yield signs at the intersection. I was doing 22 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. The other car entered the intersection at the same time I did. He didn't attempt to slow down. Same as my mistake. I immediately tried to get away from him and ended up on the sidewalk as I steared to the left. But sadly I still got hit. For once I thought I got away and avoided the accident. But nope, it was a bad day. But thank God, it could have been much worse. I am alive.
I got into an accident

Not saying how I know, but that has worked several times in the past. Especially if you don't mind driving around with a minor ding or dent in a pickup. Again, not saying who this happened to, but one pickup had three such dents (point of order: none the driver's fault). After 330,000 miles on said pickup, it reduced the salvage value by $100, but the insurance payouts were over $8,000. So it worked out in the end......NavigatorWife and Bean Jr. Thank this.

Lots of them around, they are treated a “yield to the vehicle on the right” opposite of a roundabout.Solo Soul Thanks this.

Some states might be different. I remember back in the day getting my DL up in the northeast, and one of the jokes told in school was how the law is written in such a way that if four vehicles arrive at an uncontrolled four way intersection at the same time from different directions, then each vehicle must yield to the one on it's left. Meaning none of them ever gets to go. Lol.NavigatorWife, mjd4277 and Solo Soul Thank this.

After that initial investigation, my insurance adjuster says that I had been through the intersection when I was hit, I had almost made it. And I also had an evasive maneuver to the left. They say that I have no liability. And they will contact the other drivers insurance on my behalf. The dashcam footage really really helped.

I've got one at the corner of my yard. The first winter I was here a couple months after I moved in there was an accident. The snow was piled high on the corners as that happens in WI. Haven't seen one since at that one. There are lots of uncontrolled intersections in my town too.
NavigatorWife, God prefers Diesels, slow.rider and 1 other person Thank this. -
They also said that after talking to the other driver and investigating more, they will come to the final decision. But they also said that even in the worst case scenario for me, the other driver will be at least majority at fault if not 100% at-fault.
NavigatorWife Thanks this.
