I think in Illinois supervision means it doesn't permanently go on your driving record as long as you don't get any more of them within a specified time. It just sort of sits there temporarily. Then after the specified time, it drops off of your record. At least that's way it used to mean with regular non-CDL traffic tickets.

that's my understanding as well. question is why do I get punished when I followed company directions...AND is it a good deal ?
-
CDL driver is always responsible for the vehicle he's driving, but there's usually some leeway if you just left the pickup and haven't passed a scale yet. As to whether or not it's a good deal, it sounds like you get no permanent mark on your driving record and don't have to pay any fine. From what I can tell, that ain't too bad. Of course it might be worthwhile to pay a second lawyer to interpret what the first one is saying. Lol.Last edited: Jun 24, 2021
REALITY098765, Accidental Trucker, clausland and 2 others Thank this. -
supervision will be on my record...so no ...not good...
-
If you pulled out of Global on Lake, there is a scale at the truck stop that charges to park.Maybe not there when you got the ticket. Good luck with the ticket.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

there is no any scale within 7 mile radius..when my trip was only 2 miles ...even if it there was a scale ..then what, if I am over the limit...take the trailer back to UP railroad ? I cannot enter the yard because I dont have shipping data to pass the gate. it came from CA to get delivered locally...so once I leave gate there is no way back ...it is not like I can go back to shipper
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Sounds like you screwed yourself.

It will technically be "on your record" for a while, but only until the supervision period expires. With regular non-CDL tickets supervision were usually for 12 months, and didn't get reported to anyone unless you violate the terms of the supervision.

Do you have a copy of the J 1 that you received from the Yard when you left with the box? A company I was leased to out of Chicago, had a driver at the Bolingbrook Scale overweight. The J 1 was wrong, the weight was way over, as was yours. They claimed that the steamship line was responsible. Because of the weight listed on the J 1.
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Back before computers , it was 30 days. I thought they had overweight Permits for those cans? That's why the strobes. We did not have Permits, just scaled every load.
