Western star 4900

    Please help have a 2007 Western star 4900 need to
    Replace cab airbags leaking won’t air up I was under there and couldn’t even think of how to change it this is a time when I wish I had a Pete lol any help would be great plus I would like to change the shocks as it’s been 5 years any idea how to get to them dealer says there is 4 on my truck lucky me

    Get the factory part number and cross refer if dealer out of them. Put anti seize on bolts. 5 years those shocks were shot 4 years ago. Air bag use a scissor Jack and disconnect the leveling valve rod air bags to full height. Use Jack to support cab. Disconnect air lines remove bags and replace. Easy easy.

    I did both of mine in the truckstop parking lot last year. Was really easy but i have a pete so not sure what its like on a star. Just be careful with thr quick connect air fitting and dont over tighten the air bag stud.

    For the op ,On the topic of quick connect fittings drain air tanks then they pop off easy . It’s the air pressure that helps keep them tight.
