If an X15 blew a turbo and filled the emissions system with oil does that mean complete replacement of said system……of course no extended warranty.
Dealer cost for parts and labor almost 20K
everytime I hear this kind of thing it reinforces the thinking that I’ll never buy one of these new pos trucks. Unless I go into it knowing that I’ll dump the pos after 3-4 year max.

If that happens now the turbo is probably on backorder adding insult to injury.
-
Yes the emissions system will need replaced.

No cleaning anything, just replace. Wonderful
bzinger, Roberts450 and Ruthless Thank this. -
Pretty much. Lots of super expensive metals in those components that cant be cleaned of oil and coolant because they are used to produce a chemical reaction with the urea and carbon. That reaction produces the high needed to burn off the stuff the engine cant burn at its lower burn temp to reduce the emissions.

Morehouse currently had an x15 sitting in California waiting on a turbo that is on backorder.

What’s a one box go for these days complete…?

At that point, it would surely be tempting to let the bad parts just fall off and forget to reinstall them, wouldn’t it?
Mattmanstroked, BoostedTeg, Wespipes and 6 others Thank this. -
I'm no heavy diesel mechanic, but, I'm thinking it could have sucked lots of metal pieces/parts into the engine as well. Stories like that make me content with being a company driver. Good luck.
