I did not go through Virginia's academy but I definately concur with that Trooper's statement. 6 months in hell is the best description of it.![]()

Like other posters have said, Attitude goes a long ways. If you start running your mouth from get go, your just asking for it. I have always been courteous but cautious because I have come across some troopers that have their hat on too tight. Even in those situations, I still maintain my professionalism. This driver you mentioned should be lucky you did not shut him down for his logbook.

Well I can think of three driver's from that area over the years that I can clearly remember. One idiot, who was stopped for doing 25 over the speed limit, I asked for his fire extinguisher. Well it was empty and I asked if he had another one. I've seen many driver's that have more than one. Well this guy puched the side of cab, then the driver's door and busted his hand up pretty good. The guy was totally enraged. Over what, nothing. He punched the door again. Passing motorists stopped to offer help. When he was done I asked him if he felt better now. Then he started cussing and raising more hell. Then he was arrested for disorderly conduct and his license was suspended. I guess the real reason I remember this guy, since it was over 4 years ago, was when he was at trial. He was found guilty and after the judge sentenced him to serve a jail sentence, he fainted and cracked his head on the floor.Nagger Thanks this.

Dieselbear, can't say I've ever met a driver like that but I've heard'em in the truck stops and on the CB. Courtesy don't hurt. I don't know about this guy but I've seen the type. I think for the most part they are in the minority, but every driver has a story about their encounter with a officer. My son is a state trooper and he's always got a story. He enjoys telling me about the truck drivers just to see my reaction. His biggest gripe though is just like yours." Why do they want to argue with me and question me Dad". Just the nature of the beast I guess. Don't let'em get you down. You have a job to do and I for one am glad you are out there. If you weren't we would be riding in trucks with AR-15's and Shotguns. On second thought might not be a bad idea. Would create jobs. HA!!

DB, that driver was what you call one of those SUPER TRUCKERS, as they like to be called.

Many of us ARE carrying ARs and/or shotguns, and possibly even pistols.

I totaly agree with you on that point, that they are definately the minority. I stopped quite a few more drivers after him last night and they all were very friendly. It doesn't get me down, just makes me say "Things that make you say hmmmmm." #### I dated myself, anyone remember Arsenio Hall?

I always try to get along. My father has learned his lesson as well. He once told a Deputy that she could not take him to jail! Guess where he ended up?
And yes, I too remember Arsenio Hall. We sure are getting old.
