Hey dabs
Seeming how most our freight goes into cali and they have anti idle law its just best to get an APU
Now JCT charges 8000 financed at 15 percent. I have seen some drivers that got an APU from somewhere else other than JCT. I think if you got the permission from JCT you can get it wherever you want. If you get it from JCT they will put a TK tripac on it. IMO they r the best APU out there. I have carrier myself and I hate it. The tripac is quieter, they route the air thru the existing ports on the truck rather than drilling three new holes and have flex pipe everywhere if u got a carrier. Just like a truck its another engine and unseen problems will show up eventually. On mine the compressor when out on it twice, once was covered under warranty and the second one wasn't. There went a grandif JCT won't let yall get it somewhere else then the tripac is the way to go. Even the carrier techs say so lol. The tch said that they need to selling these POS lol. Anyways if yall decide that yall don't want to invest in the apu yall can always find a idleaire place but they r still lacking in availablility. Ok I hope what I just typed all makes sense lol. I'm multitasking again

Thanx for pointing this out LMB.
Also, I forgot to include the fact that I take $150.00 every week in advance for my expenses on the road. That also was NOT reflected in my average of .34 cpm. So if you add in $150.00 x 4 weeks in a month = $600.00 more toward the bottom line. So if I calculate my advances back into my pay that comes out to be....
wait a minute, carry the 1.....
I don't have enuff fingers, need to take my boots off to count my on my toes also.....
.39 cpm average
Now add in what LMB stated {Maint Escrow .07 cpm} and I am up to .46 cpm average take home.
Sorry everybody!!

Dang, I just read thru all the posts since I posted my earnings. I really did not mean to cause such a ruckus. My info was meant to be helpful, not detrimental.
AlanP is right about my mpg. It bites at 4.8 mpg. This seriously cuts down on my earnings. As I stated, I have only been here a month and I did not select an aerodynamic truck. That was my poor decision. But I am living with it...for 3 months anyway.
After I trade in for a new ProStar, I have no doubt I will be up in the .50 cpm take home range.
As someone else posted & they are also correct, is the fact that after I pay off that NEW ProStar in 5 years, I will be able to continue to run that "5 year old truck" for ANOTHER 5 years and save enuff money to maybe buy a truck outright. If not an outright purchase, definitely without a doubt, I will have enuff to put a SUBSTANTIAL down payment on another NEW truck.
Wow, I really did not mean to stir up a hornets nest.
Thanx to all who defended us JCT operators, both fellow JCT operators and non-JCT folks !!!

Lol silverado,
Well when someone decides to make a ######## comment when that CRETE driver probably doesn't know anything about advancing as a l/o or o/o we gotta set him straight lol. Now that you included ur advances in it I'm sure that will shut them up lolSilveradoBlue Thanks this. -
Hey Silverado.... can't recall, but did u have ur .02 bonus that's pd each qtr?
SilveradoBlue Thanks this. -
No I did not!! Kool !!
Add that .02 cents and I am now at .48 cpm avg take home.
Keeps getting better and better.
Thanx !!! -
An APU is worth every penny you put into it. I also have a Carrier, and unlike Alan, I have not had a Problem with mine. I don't think I could truck without it. Mine is a little bit louder tha most, but the way I sleep, it would take more than that to bother me. I figure the only one it really bothers is the guy next to me, and who cares about him. Probably some old meat hauler......wait,,,,I am an olde meat hauler,,,,,Oh well

HA!!! as someone who still drives for one of the 'top tier compnys", here is the real scoop,14yrs expr, 49cpm +01cpm saftey bonus(qrtly), avg 1800 mlsperwk, and also after talking to crete, swift usexprss, etc, dry van weekly averages are all about the same, so in short yes you can starve to death on 49cpm or u can do what i will do in jan and start buying that trk and u know what? if i only clear 6-700wk after settlementANDtaxes, so what, after five years i get keys to a trk with another 5yrs of good service and no payment,i fail to see the downside here, again seeing these posts, shows me that i have made the right choice,,,,c u guys in the cave,in da snow,or just plain cya but soon!!!!!!!!
SilveradoBlue, Vette1967, Alanp613 and 2 others Thank this. -
Well lucky you. My issues were from installer and tech not doing the job right
but the last time I heard they r only installing tripacs.
