Will you be trained by them or are you experienced?

    (1) Can an experienced solo driver attend Orientation in Laredo? I live in San Antonio and if I go to work for them I'd like to leave my personal vehicle in Laredo while I'm on the road and then leave the truck there for service and repairs while I'm at home.

    (2) Would an experienced solo driver be able to get a Cascadia or another truck with some decent room in it? I've been in T-600s with 72" sleepers and they're cramped. I carry a mountain bike with me on the road and keep it stored on the top bunk in a transit bag.

    (3) Do they allow the use of power inverters and/or have APUs on their newer trucks? I like having a microwave so I can save money on eating while I'm on the road.

    (4) Do they require TWIC cards? I have HazMat on my license and a U.S. Passport but don't have a TWIC card.

    (5) How have solo drivers been doing lately in terms of weekly miles? Average length of haul?

    (6) Can you 'bank' days off? I usually like to stay out for a long time and then take a week off. Would I lose my assigned truck taking off that much time?

    Thanks in advance.

If I sign up for them might I really have to wait 2-4 weeks for a truck after orientation?

    Are miles any good?

I'm currently signed up for Marten but there's a lot of people saying they're getting low miles.

Yes on the wait for a truck. Last I heard a few weeks ago it was 25 on the wait list. I don't know about the miles... i'm a team about to go solo (my wife has medical issues so she has to come off the truck) so I could use a good answer for this one as well. I read a blog regularly and he seems to make about 2200 avg a week.

And no, there is no cost to install the inverter. Just can't be over 1500 watts.

Are these detention pay numbers still correct? Is that layover pay per day?

    Thanks!

    Customers now say

Well we have 2 hours to get you loaded instead of 3.

Pay is 60$ a day minus first 48 from your board time till the time you get dispatched.

If your dispatcher likes you they will hold off on sending it so you get paid extra layover.

CPM is a penny higher since Nov 2012
(Empty miles took a dive since then therefore limiting potential loads)

Used to be they would dh you 400 miles no problem in new mexico to freight. Now....well you are just going to have ton"sit tight"
