Thanks for the attack. Real professional.
My bad though. I thought Cadillac's night vision system was based on starlight. Turns out it isn't: http://www.vxm.com/Impact.cadillac.nitevision.html I gotta give it to these guys. Coming out with tech that's over a decade old and trying to sell it for several times what it's worth is a novel idea if no one catches on.
Course it might inspire [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][SIZE=-1]Raytheon to finish and market their version. I'd consider a $2k option on a new truck but $10k is blatant thievery.

If you read the string the system is not $10K, more like $2,500-$3500 depending upon how crazy you want to make the install.
Comparing a 15 year old technology (old Raytheon system) to a newer system that uses a different detector, 4x resolution, 1/10 the size, is like stating the Matrix on VHS is the same as on Blue Ray.
You stated you would buy one at $2K, BMW has the option at $2,500.00 and you can install one on your rig for $3K with a monitor. Attach a picture of your rig when you buy one.
This technology is where GPS was 8 years ago. You will see in the next few years every OE Truck manufacture offering some sort of night vision system as an option. Even Forbes Magazine this month ran a story on this technology and made the same forecast.MCss Thanks this. -
There's a dashcam with infrared for night. Have to dig up the company, that with my netbook should do the same for a total of $600 to $700.
Not looking to use these to see only spot trouble, peds, deer, ect. -
Now run it wirelessly into a pair of special made sunglasses and make the whole thing installable in 5 minutes in any vehicle including motorcycles, I might buy it for the cool factor. -
Gee, I will run out and buy 2. On credit of course! LOL

I want one of these but 3,500 bucks was a bit much. I already have a color monitor mounted on my dash for my back up and security camera's so all I needed was the FLIR camera. Seeing down the road 1/2 a mile at night, in heavy fog, in a whiteout, would be great.

since you have a monitor, All you need is a camera, cable, monitor, should not cost you 3500, prob. under 2800.
You need to find out if your monitor takes more than one input though. If not, you can get another multi channel monitor or cheaper, just get a rocker switch.
