I’m in this ###### lease purchase and have only netted 21k for this year, that’s winter time flatbed. Lol.

People taking $1.05 a mile is why no one can make money. I can't believe how many people take the dirt cheap set rates per mile. I'd was willing to take a loss for 1.43 plus fuel (1.72) to be home every week

Please stop driving the industry into the ground. This is part of why truckers can't make money. There is no minimum and some (a lot of) people get suckered

As far as walk aways I left Prime during the honeymoon phase. I got a nice long one and saved 26k in 3 months back in 2015 and only lost the deposit that they stole. Averaged about 1.40 a mile which isn't great but I didn't know better and actually fought my dispatcher regularly to get that. Their costs are low though thanks to industry rigging towards the big guys.

Still couldn't get approved with good credit by anyone for even a 50k truck. Went unconventional with the loan to get my own pos Mack

    Geeze.
I know a new driver averaging 88 cents a mile, driving a company truck doing oversize loads.

He Gets a percentage , I think 20% of the gross after permits.
The company normally grosses $9 a loaded mile, but they run a lot of deadhead empty miles.
He earned $65k last year, his second year driving, and was home every weekend,

I am looking at getting on with a lease purchase program but the only reason I am doing it is because they are putting me into a new 2022 Kenworth T680 so when you take maintenance out of the picture it cuts down a lot of the worrisome about a lease.

You may have warranty but you have to figure in down/lost time when broke down...many shops are backed up even under normal times but especially nowadays....many folks don’t think about that and have no plan in place..

That is very true, but unless of an accident or crash, I really have a hard time foreseeing a big maintenance problem with a brand new truck. Minus the pm and so forth.

Your payments do not stop even when you’re broke down so let’s say your truck is in the dealership for two weeks… What are you gonna do then if you don’t have the money set aside to cover your truck payment and your bills?… Just because you have a brand new truck does it mean you won’t run into issues or potential disaster…
