Hey Dab's,, Part of my truck selection was one equipped with an APU, however I did not know anything about them, just knew they made financial sense in the long run! I can say we made the right choice! We luv our TK, It added 4000 to the truck but factor the fuel savings each week plus saving my CAT engine some work! Its a little strange how some trucks are set up and maybe somebody can shed some lite, Our class had only one Prostar that week as I posted and it was going to the one team or us if they said no, it was also put in a separate location on the yard, also in a separate place at the wash bay were 2 w900s, 1 pete. the rest in the bullpen, I went to the wash bay with Royce, He had his cell to find out what the team would do, I looked at both w900s both apus but mine had a 1800watt inverter wired in, better interior, ect the pete was sans apu. I made my choice as soon as the team choose the Prostar! I can also say this about the w900,, it is probably one of the best constructed, most insulated as far as outside noise trucks ever built! I luv the Pete 379/389 too but its Pacar, like GM caddy vs chevy! I'm not that up on internationals though. Ok mpg is not the best, but that long nose handles!!! I bet Randy agrees! Its like a dream to drive now that I'm used to it! I can also say this,, I see properly maintained Petes and KW's that are up to 40 years old still running the roads! That is the cab and chassis, yes they get a new trans when needed, new engine when needed, Why buy a new Rig every 5 yrs when u can spend 15K on a new cat installed? As far as the Cali standards any year truck can be made to comply if the owner wants and even get a shiny sticker to boot. I think u guys need to decide what to do after 90 days though, keep her and up grade to an apu or maybe pick a new or different truck. I will also say this, I luv my classic cars, I luv my 87 Vette, I luv this truck so far, I truly believe that these have souls somehow and if u luv them and take care of them they respond in kind! Oh well we shall see,, I am just hoping to make my 90 days, I luv JCT so far and dont want to be asked to leave. Between weather and a late load, trailer problems, not paying attention to my recap and accepting a pre plan week2 and no room to tweek, damaged tomatoes (68 cases), oh and nailing a deer and messing my bumper up!! I think I wanted to meet every department personally after or, lol Hope that helps u Dabs and a few other posts,,,, Have fun all![]()

I have seen two, both true owners, both went through lease, both maintained like new, Both Pete 379's, one has a pretty cali clean idle sticker, one was an 04 the other 02 forget which had the sticker.

Odd as it sounds, the guy that did that site now works here at JCT. Whataya say griz can ya do it?
Vette Im gonna call you tomorrow! I'm so sorry.... -
Any of you all using your laptops to do your logs?
How does JCT go for that, according the DDL website they have a template, that JCT authorizes. There is a thread on here about it http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/electronic-connection/13886-ddl.html
I am messing around with the 30 day trial, not sure if I like it or not. Might just cause my writing stinks. Should have been a doctor. -
Mistang970, i'm not w JCT yet. I've got DDL and love it! It won,t let u make a mistake, will redline if u do. You do have to be able to print off copies for DOT, if asked. I've been asked for logs 3-4 times and when officer saw i had DDL ,he said since i had DDL, he didn't need to see them! I've used DDL for 3 years.

sorry, put mistang970 instead of mustang970

One other thing about APU's if your going to shop around. Find out how much storage space you'll lose with the different types. Was getting my tripac worked on when some guy came in asking about them for his company. Thats how I learned about that one. Tripacs take less space and carriers more, as I understand it.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do. -
Mustang
DDL is awesome and worth the 99 dollar license. It will save you the headache of having to calculate out ur recap. If you need to make a *correction* its very easy. Just a few clicks
. JCT accepts it, all you have to do is make sure you got red ink also cuz you gottaprint it out red. If you decide you wanna stick with it let me know I'll let you know all the settings you need
