Peterbilt jerks while accelerating

    AAAAHHHH COME ON, you honestly can’t tell me it’s not funny watching the the cab rock and the frame flex as the pull away from a stop and you hear them gears a banging in that automated box.

    Got to beat the clock man. It’s a race

    My Trucks use to jerk and rock a lot when I was younger. Runs a little smoother now. Jest my opinion.

    Mine use to rock a lot when wife and I ran team. But now that she went all corporate on me. No more rocking #### it.

    Hello ! I have a 2016 Peterbilt 579 with a auto eaton ultra shift plus transmission. When my truck is pulling heavy load and I start accelerating from zero after a red light or a stop sign, it starts jerking. It feels like the transmission is slipping. The RPMs goes up very quick and then come back. I see rpm gauge bouncing up and down. This keeps happening until the truck get enough momentum or say pass speed 50 km/h. When this happens I have to let go the gas paddle and then press gently to avoid it. But when i am going uphill, letting go the gas paddle is not an option. It won’t happen on a level road if I be very gentle on gas paddle but it happens even on level road if I press gas paddle hard. Please let me know if anyone have similar problem. I am a new owner operator.

    what i have found, either with the "automated shift" (has a clutch) trucks, or the fully automatics, the fuel peddle has to be pressed lightly, so the transmission(s) have time to react to the load, weight, speed, etc.

    try giving it lighter pedal pressure, also, if you are able to, check the fluid level in the transmission. that could be slightly low.

    I don't have much experience with auto shifts but it sound like your clutch is done.
